We’re looking for a Utilities Director to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be based in Austin, New York, San Francisco, or Seattle, though remote options are available across the U.S. Relocation assistance is provided for the right person.

The Opportunity

In this role, you’ll lead utility coordination efforts for large-scale data center developments across the country. You’ll collaborate closely with utility companies, energy suppliers, consultants, engineers, and internal project teams to ensure reliable and cost-effective power delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all utility-related activities throughout the lifecycle of major data center projects
• Support site selection and feasibility assessments for new developments
• Guide the design and construction of substations, transmission line extensions, and related infrastructure
• Build strong relationships with local utilities and energy providers
• Lead negotiations on power supply, pricing, and infrastructure agreements
• Manage documentation of interconnection processes, including costs, timelines, and milestones
• Align project schedules and utility deliverables with broader development goals

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related field (advanced degree preferred)
• 3–5+ years of experience in utilities, data centres, or large-scale infrastructure projects
• Strong technical understanding of power systems, energy delivery, and project development
