Territory Sales Director – Smart Building Controls (UK)

About the Company

Our client is an established Canadian controls vendor with over two decades of experience in the smart buildings sector. Known for their high-quality building automation solutions, they serve the light commercial market and have built an extensive international distribution network— including more than 100 branches across the United States.

As part of their strategic growth plan, they are now expanding their footprint across the UK and Europe and are seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to lead this effort.

Role Overview

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving UK market growth through strategic planning, channel development, and relationship building. This is a key leadership role that will shape the company’s regional presence, with significant opportunity to progress into a wider European management position as the business scales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute UK country strategy and regional go-to-market plans.
  • Identify, engage, and onboard new channel partners across the smart building ecosystem.
  • Increase brand visibility and awareness within the UK market.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with:
  • Systems Integrators (SIs)
  • Engineering consultants
  • Distributors (primary route to market)
  • End users
  • Drive revenue growth through both new business development and expansion of existing accounts.
  • Provide market insights to support product positioning, competitive strategy, and long-term expansion into Europe.

About You

  • Experienced in business development, sales, or channel management within building automation, controls, IoT, BMS, or a related field. (Preferred 5 years experience)
  • Strong network among SIs, consultants, distributors, and/or end customers in the UK smart buildings sector.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to build a market from the ground up.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the drive to grow into a broader European leadership role.

Compensation & Growth

  • £70K base salary.
  • 20% bonus & car allowance.
