What You’ll Do

  • Perform start-up, commissioning, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and warranty work on commercial chiller systems for the Data Center market.
  • Deliver exceptional on-site technical support for both indoor and outdoor equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues safely and efficiently.
  • Travel throughout the local territory, with occasional travel outside the region as required.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding equipment operation, maintenance recommendations, and completed service work.
  • Complete equipment installations, deliveries, removals, and system commissioning.
  • Participate in an on-call emergency service rotation (typically one week every 1–2 months).
  • Maintain service tools, testing equipment, and PPE in accordance with company safety standards.
  • Identify opportunities for additional service work and preventative maintenance agreements.
  • Complete service reports and documentation accurately and on time.
  • Adhere to all company safety procedures and customer site requirements.

What We’re Looking For

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in HVAC field service.
  • Commercial chiller service experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with magnetic bearing or oil-free centrifugal chillers is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience with commissioning, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and warranty service.
  • Comfortable working independently while providing excellent customer service.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • HVAC trade school certification or equivalent technical training preferred.
  • EPA Certification (where applicable).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Relevant state or local trade licenses as required.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, chillers, refrigeration cycles, and mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Ability to diagnose complex equipment faults.
  • Experience reading wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Proficient with diagnostic equipment, gauges, meters, power tools, and service software.
  • Strong commitment to safety and best practices.

Physical Requirements

This role involves regular lifting (up to 50 lbs, occasionally 75 lbs with assistance), climbing ladders, working at heights, operating in mechanical rooms and outdoor environments, and travelling to customer sites throughout the assigned territory. Candidates should be comfortable working in varying weather conditions and participating in an on-call rotation.
