The position will be based in Austin, Texas and we are open to local candidates and those interested in relocation.

The construction management firm specialises in projects in multiple industries and this position requires experience leading large-scale healthcare projects. You need to have a proven track record of delivering innovative and complex construction solutions, and the client is dedicated to building state-of-the-art healthcare facilities that improve patient outcomes and enhance communities. As they continue to grow and expand their portfolio, they are seeking a dynamic Senior Superintendent to lead healthcare construction projects valued at $100 million and above.

Position Overview: The Senior Superintendent will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of healthcare construction projects, overseeing all aspects of site operations, safety, quality control, and schedule adherence. Reporting directly to the Project Executive, the Senior Superintendent will lead a team of construction professionals and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while upholding the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Leadership: Provide strong leadership and direction to all on-site personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project objectives are met or exceeded.
  2. Safety Management: Champion a culture of safety on the construction site, implementing and enforcing all safety policies and procedures to mitigate risks and maintain a safe working environment.
  3. Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure all work meets or exceeds industry standards and project specifications.
  4. Schedule Management: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, coordinating with all stakeholders to ensure timely completion of milestones and overall project delivery.
  5. Cost Control: Monitor project budgets and expenditures, identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing strategies to maximize project profitability.
  6. Client Relations: Foster positive relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders, addressing concerns and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  7. Team Development: Mentor and coach site personnel, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth within the construction team.
  8. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, building codes, and permits throughout the construction process.
  9. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed project documentation, including daily reports, progress photos, and change orders.
  10. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions and financial liabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in healthcare construction management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects valued at $100 million and above.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques, particularly within the healthcare sector.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve project goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools, such as Procore, Primavera P6, and Bluebeam.
  • OSHA 30-Hour certification (preferred).
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
