Senior Project Engineer

CrimsonXT has partnered with a recognized expert in the integration of Automated Material Handling Systems, looking to hire a Senior Project Engineer to its team of experts.

Role responsibilities:

If successful, you will be responsible for provide technical support to our Project Management team for each project. This role performs engineering design evaluations and will work to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints. The Project Engineer provides necessary technical support for the engineering process. Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

• Provide support to the engineering and project management departments
• Provide creative and constructive input
• Lead project discussions in person and remotely with end users
• Coordinate the manufacturing of header steel or miscellaneous equipment
• Development of air calcs, speeds, and rate calculations
• Validation of equipment orders before order entry
• Coordination of permitting requirements and submittals
• Create and participate in the execution of training for end users remotely or in person
• Coordinate the assembly of Installation and As-Built Drawing Sets in AutoCAD
• Assist in making AutoCAD revisions to projects in progress as required
• Assist in the development of the Functional Specification Document (FSD)
• Develop and submit contract change orders to the sales department and/or customer on time
• Assist with the tracking of all project costs, providing timely feedback to management on changes to profit margins
• Travel to jobsites to assess project progress, perform site checks, or assist on system commissioning as required
• Perform related tasks on special projects as directed
• Perform other duties as required for business operations• Provide support to the engineering and sales departments during the pre-sales phase
• Assist in ROM and/or firm pricing for required equipment and services
• Use customer/vendor programs to assist engineering and sales departments in pricing and BOM of required equipment
• Provide creative and constructive input on the concept and design of the proposed system
• Assist in the development of the proposal document with specific attention to equipment specifications and BOM

What we are looking for: 

The successful Senior Project Engineer will have necessary experience in preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring assigned engineering projects to help ensure projects are delivered reliably, on time, and on budget. You should possess:

• This role requires 6+ years of experience in Automated Material Handling Systems
• Working knowledge of recent AutoCAD version
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• Knowledge of general material handling and storage systems
• Demonstrate mechanical comprehension
• Provide an appropriate level of decision-making related to job responsibilities
• Ability to be flexible and reprioritise regularly to accommodate deadlines and workload
• Possesses good verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrate an ability to analyse and organise assigned work
• Ability to maintain a good working relationship with the customers, vendors, and team members
