About the job

Looking for a new career opportunity?

Our client is a global leader in mission-critical cooling technology, engineering high-efficiency thermal solutions for data centres, AI infrastructure and other critical facilities worldwide. As demand from hyperscale and AI computing customers accelerates, they are building a dedicated commercial function to own this strategy globally – and are looking for a senior leader to found and lead it.

This is a market-creation role for a commercial leader who understands how the world’s largest hyperscalers, neocloud providers and colocation operators evaluate technology, approve suppliers and build reference architectures – and who is ready to build a global strategy, and a market position, from the ground up.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As Head of Global Hyperscale Partnerships, you will own the commercial strategy for engaging the world’s leading hyperscale data centre operators, neocloud providers, colocation companies and AI infrastructure platforms. You’ll build executive relationships, pursue approved-vendor and specified-product status, and position advanced cooling technology within the fastest-growing segment of global infrastructure investment.

You’ll work closely with sales, engineering, product, operations and quality teams – translating what hyperscale customers need into what the business must become to serve them. This is as much about building internal readiness as it is about winning external trust.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Develop and lead a global hyperscale account and business development strategy, prioritising hyperscalers, neoclouds, colocation operators and AI infrastructure companies.
  • Build trusted, executive-level relationships across engineering, infrastructure, procurement, sustainability and operations at target accounts.
  • Lead the commercial effort to achieve approved-vendor and specified-product status, coordinating technical qualification and factory assessment activity.
  • Build relationships with the engineering firms, technology platforms and general contractors that influence hyperscale design and procurement decisions.
  • Own a global opportunity pipeline — identifying early-stage projects and shaping requirements ahead of formal procurement.
  • Translate customer expectations into internal priorities, partnering with operations and engineering leadership to close organisational readiness gaps.
  • Act as the internal voice of the hyperscale customer, and the external, ecosystem-facing voice of the business.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • 10+ years in strategic or global account roles, including 3+ years selling directly into hyperscalers, neoclouds or colocation operators.
  • Established relationships within the global data centre ecosystem — ideally warm contacts with infrastructure, procurement or sustainability leaders at two or more of the top five hyperscalers.
  • A track record of building account strategies from the ground up — market entry, stakeholder mapping, qualification and specification, not just managing an existing pipeline.
  • Direct experience carrying relationships through approved-vendor and technical qualification processes, ideally including global framework agreements.
  • A background in mission-critical HVAC/thermal, electrical/power infrastructure, or data centre development/procurement on the operator side.
  • Comfort operating as the ecosystem-facing voice with major engineering and general contracting firms, and with leading AI hardware and infrastructure platforms.
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, technology or construction management (advanced degree an asset); experience across North America, Europe and Asia is a strong plus.

Package – $350,000 plus benefits

FIRST SIX MONTHS

You will map the global target-account landscape, document current relationships and market position, and build an executive engagement and qualification plan for each priority account. You’ll define the roadmap to approved-vendor status, establish a qualified opportunity pipeline, and set out the internal commercial, technical and operational capabilities the business needs to win and deliver hyperscale business.

WHY APPLY

This is a rare opportunity to build a global commercial function from scratch inside an established, well-respected engineering business — with direct executive visibility, real budget and mandate, and a seat at the table as the company defines its position in one of the fastest-growing infrastructure markets in the world.
