CrimsonXT has partnered with an AI Cloud Platform company that, due to continued expansion, is hiring across multiple functions within the data centre space. We are seeking a Category Manager – Construction Services to join the team, ideally based in the Central or West Coast regions.

Role responsibilities:

As Category Manager – Construction Services, you will play a key role within the Data Centre Design, Engineering, and Construction organisation. This position will focus on contract management and procurement for large-scale construction, engineering, and professional services projects, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and strong commercial outcomes. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the design and construction contract management function across multiple projects
  • Developing and implementing contract management tools and processes
  • Partnering with business leaders to navigate complex operational and spend initiatives
  • Ensuring compliance with deal-to-contract policies, procedures, and control frameworks
  • Leading contract creation, review, and negotiation processes
  • Building and maintaining clause libraries and standard contract templates
  • Guiding deal structure and risk mitigation strategies
  • Coordinating resolution of key business issues with Legal, Risk, and leadership teams
  • Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clarity and accountability
  • Acting as the point of contact for all contract-related inquiries and governance
  • Streamlining processes from quote creation to signature completion
  • Providing training and sharing best practices to enhance contracting efficiency
  • Liaising between Project Controls, Construction Managers, and General Contractors to enforce contract compliance
  • Managing multiple contracts and process improvement initiatives simultaneously

What we’re looking for: 

We’re seeking a professional with 7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, or contract management, ideally within construction or data centre environments. You should also bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Legal Studies, Engineering, or Construction Administration (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong understanding of contract administration, risk management, and supplier governance
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Adobe Sign (or similar e-signing tools)
  • Experience with SAP, SRM, or equivalent systems (preferred)
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on quality, compliance, and process improvement
