Position Overview

As a Board Member for our Series B stage battery material company, you will play a critical role in guiding strategic decision-making, providing valuable insights, and contributing to the overall success and growth of the organization. Drawing upon your extensive expertise and industry knowledge, you will collaborate with fellow board members and company leadership to drive innovation, navigate challenges, and capitalize on opportunities within the rapidly evolving battery materials landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Guidance: Provide strategic direction and insights to steer the company towards achieving its long-term objectives and maximizing shareholder value.
  • Governance and Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best corporate governance practices, safeguarding the interests of shareholders and stakeholders.
  • Industry Expertise: Utilize your deep understanding of battery materials, energy storage technologies, market trends, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic decision-making and identify growth opportunities.
  • Networking and Partnerships: Leverage your extensive network within the industry to forge strategic partnerships, collaborations, and alliances that enhance the company’s competitive positioning and accelerate growth.
  • Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks associated with business operations, market fluctuations, technological advancements, and other factors impacting the company’s performance and sustainability.
  • Financial Oversight: Review financial performance, budgets, and forecasts to ensure fiscal responsibility and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Board Governance: Actively participate in board meetings, committees, and discussions, providing valuable input and constructive feedback on key initiatives, proposals, and decisions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with shareholders, investors, customers, and other stakeholders to foster transparency, trust, and mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Serve as a mentor and advisor to executive management, offering guidance, support, and expertise to help them navigate challenges and capitalize on opportunities for growth and success.


  • Proven track record of executive leadership and/or board-level experience within the battery materials, energy storage, or related industries.
  • Extensive knowledge of battery technologies, materials science, chemistry, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong understanding of market trends, regulatory landscape, and competitive dynamics impacting the energy storage industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic guidance, drive innovation, and foster collaboration within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • High degree of integrity, ethics, and commitment to corporate governance principles.
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, chemistry, business administration) preferred.
