Application Engineer

CrimsonXT has partnered with a global leader in refrigeration technology and energy-efficient solutions. This company specializes in designing and manufacturing advanced chillers and chilled water systems.

Known for innovation in oil-free chillers, thermosyphon-free cooling, and advanced control systems, they are seeking an Application Engineer to join their team and support their engineering and sales operations.

Role responsibilities:

As an Application Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:

• Advising the Sales Team on all products and services, including chiller specifications, selections, and energy/cost analyses.
• Creating technical documentation to support sales activities, and conducting in-depth technical analyses of chiller performance.
• Maintaining and updating sales quotation templates, including offers, chiller selections, and part-load performance tables.
• Managing incoming sales inquiries and distributing them appropriately.
• Coordinating with other business units, such as the heat exchangers manufacturing team (UK) and the controls solutions provider (Canada).
• Providing reliable product performance data and simulations to meet customer and project requirements, including thermodynamic and mechanical analysis.
• Generating and assimilating technical data from a variety of sources.
• Researching technical requirements and specifications requested by customers and project managers to prepare system recommendations.
• The Application Engineer will report directly to the Engineering Manager.

Expectations:

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• A tertiary qualification in engineering or a science-based discipline (highly desirable).
• HVAC&R trade experience or a similar role with domestic and international exposure (minimum 2 years).
• Experience in a Sales Engineer, Application Engineer, or Internal Sales Engineer role within the HVAC&R industry (minimum 3 years).
• Customer service and support experience (minimum 2 years).
• High-level written and verbal communication skills in both English and German.

Preferred skills:

• Programming skills.
• A deep understanding of centrifugal compressors and flooded heat exchanger working principles.
