Spotlight on: SVT Robotics

In 2018, SVT Robotics embarked on a mission: to conquer the integration challenge long plaguing robots and automation. Now, SVT has cracked the code on integration, enabling companies to swiftly integrate their enterprise systems with disparate automation tech without the usual headaches and delays. The company’s cutting-edge SOFTBOT Platform stands ready to revolutionise your automation and give you the speed and flexibility that modern supply chains need now more than ever.

In March this year, the team unveiled the new cloud-based portal for SOFTBOT, providing IT and operations teams with a central control hub for monitoring and managing automation across multiple sites. With lots more exciting plans for 2025, we think SVT Robotics is one to watch.

An interesting read:

Danielle Fernandes, Vice President of Strategy and go-to-market at Dematic, answers the question ‘How are modern-day automation systems helping logistics providers scale in line with business needs?’, discussing the shift from traditional fixed systems to more flexible, scalable solutions.

I came across this piece on ‘SupplyChainBrain’ recently – “The Future of Logistics Automation Systems” – and it got me thinking about where the industry is headed, especially when it comes to the type of automation we’re investing in.

Traditionally, warehouse automation meant fixed systems – conveyors, sorters, large-scale setups that were efficient but rigid. This article dives into the shift towards flexible, scalable automation like AMRs and AGVs. These systems let you start small – maybe just a few robots – and scale up as your needs grow. That kind of modular approach feels a lot more in tune with today’s fast-changing environment. But why does this matter? Because flexibility isn’t just a nice-to-have anymore – it’s a competitive advantage. When you’re trying to adapt, having automation that can flex with you could be the key to improving.

How are you thinking about flexibility in your warehouse automation strategy? Are you already using modular systems? Sticking with fixed infrastructure? I’d love to hear how you’re approaching this!
