About the job

Looking for a new career opportunity?

Our client is the fastest growing AI infrastructure business in the world, and solar generation sits right at the heart of how they plan to keep scaling. This role is being created to own that piece end to end, from first conversations with developers through to signed generation deals, across every active market the business operates in.

Joining at this stage means building a discipline that does not yet exist in its current form, inside a company whose growth curve is genuinely unusual for the industry. It is the kind of role where the impact of your first year is visible, and the platform for what comes after is significant.

What you will own

You will lead solar strategy and deployment across the business, managing commercial relationships with solar developers, suppliers, independent power producers, and behind-the-meter generation partners in every active US market, from first site engagement through to a signed offtake agreement.

You will negotiate solar power purchase agreements, behind-the-meter offtake arrangements, and retail power deals, structuring terms that keep capacity options flexible and running the scenario analysis that either extends the life of existing agreements or speeds up new ones. You will also engage directly in interconnection processes and state and federal regulatory proceedings, shaping outcomes that affect the timing and economics of behind-the-meter generation.

Working closely with the site acquisition team, you will assess solar resource quality, supply chain constraints, and generation potential for prospective sites before any lease is signed. Across design, construction, finance, and grid operations, you will be the person who turns market, regulatory, and technology developments into clear calls for leadership.

What we are looking for

  • Personal experience managing a portfolio of large-scale infrastructure or data center projects, where the challenge came from running many sites at once rather than the scale of any single one
  • A history of building program tracking, systems, and reporting from the ground up, producing something leadership genuinely relied on to make decisions
  • Comfort coordinating simultaneously across construction, utilities, legal, finance, and operations, and being the person other teams turn to when a milestone is at risk
  • Ownership of stage-gate or milestone frameworks that connected site selection, engineering, permitting, and operations without losing terms in the handoff
  • An instinct for spotting schedule risk and cost exposure weeks before they show up in a status meeting, and knowing exactly who to call to resolve it
  • The ability to brief a CEO or an external developer on the state of a multi-gigawatt portfolio clearly, in a matter of minutes

Experience with powered shell or leased capacity deal structures, utility interconnection and power market dynamics, AI infrastructure constraints and scheduling, or portfolio-level tooling built beyond spreadsheets would all be a strong plus.

Why this role, specifically

This is a chance to build a function that is central to one of the fastest scaling infrastructure businesses in the world, with the autonomy to shape how it works from the start. It suits someone who wants genuine ownership rather than a defined lane within an existing team, and who wants their career to move at the same pace as the business.
