We’re partnering exclusively with a fast-scaling data center engineering and consultancy firm to appoint the most senior electrical seat in their business – a newly created role born out of rapid growth across the US hyperscale market.

This is the electrical technical authority in the house: the person who sets the standards, solves the problems no one else can, and represents the firm in front of hyperscale and colocation clients. It’s not a production-focused design seat – you won’t be heads-down on drawings. You’ll guide the design team, own the electrical basis of design, and shape how the business delivers at scale.

The firm is growing fast, works with leading hyperscalers on projects in the hundreds of megawatts, and offers genuine progression – this seat is positioned to grow into broader engineering leadership as the team scales.

What you’ll need:

Diverse data center / mission-critical experience, ideally from a consulting background where you’ve solved technical problems yourself rather than applied someone else’s solution. Confident, client-facing communication is essential – you’ll hold your ground technically in front of senior stakeholders.

Solid grounding across most of:

• Redundancy architecture – 2N, N+X, distributed and block redundancy, RAM analysis, generator paralleling, load striping
• Medium voltage design – surge arrestor sizing, VLF/Hi-Pot testing, dead break elbows, substation connections, grounding schemes
• Protection (solid understanding preferred) — differential protection, ZSI, protection narratives
• Power studies – ETAP/SKM, coordination studies, arc flash, HRG/LRG/NGR
• Equipment – MV transformers, generators, UPS, PDUs, busways, chillers, ATS, STS, CDUs
• Code – strong NEC, cable sizing, Neher-McGrath

PE licence not required but a strong advantage.

Package: competitive base, full package up to $300k for the right person, including bonus and equity. Fully remote, minimal travel.
