We are seeking a Commissioning Manager – Electrical (Data Centers) to act as the Owner’s Electrical Commissioning Lead, overseeing HV, MV, and LV electrical systems across multiple mission-critical sites. This role is ideal for an experienced electrical commissioning professional with hyperscale data center experience who thrives in fast-paced, high-accountability environments.

Role responsibilities

As the Commissioning Manager – Electrical, you will lead the end-to-end electrical commissioning lifecycle across high-performance data centers, ensuring all systems are delivered safely, tested rigorously, and handed over ready for full operational service.

You will act as the primary electrical authority between general contractors, designers, commissioning agents, and equipment vendors, driving quality, safety, and technical excellence across all commissioning phases (Levels 1–5).

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading HV, MV, and LV electrical commissioning activities across multiple sites
• Acting as Owner’s Electrical Commissioning Lead for all stakeholders
• Reviewing and validating Testing & Verification (T&V) programs and commissioning documentation
• Coordinating commissioning agents and engineers through all commissioning phases
• Ensuring compliance with design intent, operational requirements, and safety standards
• Managing commissioning records, issue tracking, test results, and final reports
• Conducting site inspections, enforcing electrical safety, and tracking commissioning progress
• Diagnosing and resolving technical issues during pre-commissioning and startup
• Supporting functional testing, electrical checks, and system validation
• Leading final system acceptance and operational handover for all electrical infrastructure
• Providing technical leadership during escalations and critical path commissioning events

Technical scope

You will be expected to demonstrate deep technical expertise in commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of mission-critical electrical systems, including but not limited to:

• Generators & Generator Paralleling Switchgear
• HV / MV / LV Transformers
• UPS systems and battery energy storage systems
• HV / MV / LV Switchgear and Main Switchboards
• PLC control systems and automated switching controls
• Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS)
• ATS, STS, PDUs, Busway, and RPPs
• Grounding and bonding systems
• Lighting and lighting control systems

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a technically strong commissioning professional with proven hyperscale data center experience and the ability to operate confidently at both site and stakeholder level.

You should bring:

• 5+ years’ experience commissioning hyperscale or mission-critical data centers
• Strong knowledge of NETA testing standards
• Familiarity with ASHRAE and/or BCxA commissioning guidelines
• Practical experience leading electrical commissioning through Levels 1–5
• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and reporting skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities
• Ability to assess, test, and validate systems at a high technical level

Preferred qualifications:

• BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent industry experience)
• Experience with control systems and mechanical systems (advantageous)
• Background working in fast-growth, high-performance data center environments
